The Bodega on the Corner

This documentary photography project collects the visual remnants of two neighborhoods on the near west side of Chicago including Humboldt Park and West Town. Documenting the shifts in class, race, and economic explosions seen with the onset of rapid gentrification in the mid-1990s in the neighborhoods I grew up in and navigated through each day. This is a small microcosm of visualization, however, is indicative and a metaphor for many metropolitan cities in the United States.

soon to be published in a chapbook in 2023
